Support Groups

Kinship support groups can be a lifeline for relatives who are raising or potentially raising the children of relatives. Resource information, friendship, emotional support, and understanding help kinship caregivers when they meet together. Often the support groups, which typically are not formal therapy groups, also offer childcare. This makes it easier for relatives to attend and also allow the children to connect with each other. Grandparents as Parents, Milton

Every Monday  from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 38 Centre Dr., Milton from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Childcare provided;For more information call John Smith at 893-3838

Grandparents Raising Their Children’s Children Support Groups

First Wednesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Barre Presbyterian Church. (No childcare at this meeting.)
Second Thursday of the month in Montpelier. Contact Evelyn Sawyer for more time and place.
Third Tuesday of the month , from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Childcare and snacks provided.contact Evelyn for place.

Grandparents Together

First and Third Wednesdays of the month at Northeast Kingdom Human Services, 2225 Portland St., St. Johnsbury, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Meal and childcare provided. Also monthly Family Events.
